ART: paintings, drawings, etc
by Edward HERZBAUM
After his death in 1967, Edward’s journal, written between 1940-1946, was found together with some paintings and drawings from the same period. The writings were translated into English and, together with some of the art work, published as a book called ‘Lost Between Worlds’. The original journals, and most of the drawings and paintings are in the USHMM (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Herzbaum’s writings and paintings were created whilst serving in General Anders’ army and follow the route taken by the army from its formation to dispersal. Maps show locations where images were drawn. Click on images to enlarge. See also Edward ‘s story in Personal Memories
